I do not think being a modern nomad means that one is a "misfit". My wife and I are now living in the third part of the world in the last 12 years - 1) Middle East, 2) SE Asia and 3) Eastern Europe. I have visited over 50 countries in the last decade. I leave in a few days on a 7 week 7 country trip. About a decade ago I noticed that no place felt strange anymore. I told people that God removed my sense of "other". A few years after realising that someone told me that if no place feels like "other" then no place feels like "home". In one way that is true but in another way it is false since my home is not here on earth but in heaven.
"Your words were found and I ate them, and Your words became for me a joy and the delight of my heart; for I have been called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts." ~Jeremiah 15:16
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us... and we saw His glory. (John 1:1, 14)
"The poor, afflicted, and needy are seeking water, but there is none, and their tongue is parched with thirst; I, the LORD, will answer them Myself, as the God of Israel I will not forsake them. I will open rivers on the bare heights and springs in the midst of valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water and the dry land fountains of water." (Isaiah 41:17-18)
“But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.” (John 4:14)
